For IT Administrators

Sophisticated User and Contact Management

IT Administrators can create a rich contact database and maintain it easily. SherpaTools allows you to import shared contacts in bulk via Google Docs spreadsheets or create them automatically from an authorized user’s personal contacts. Administrators can update User Profiles and Shared Contacts, editing important fields like phone number, job title, department, and location. The SherpaTools user interface also supports password reset, account renaming, group membership edits, and changes to email aliases.

Email settings policies

Establish Gmail “best practices” by applying email settings policies to groups of users or departments. This powerful feature is helpful for configuring Email Signatures, Send Mail As, Time Zone, and many other settings.

Advanced Delegation Premium Feature

Share the administrative workload. This module allows domain administrators to delegate specific administrative responsibilities to specific domain users without having to grant domain admin rights. It also includes the industry-first concept of “constituents” — users on whose behalf delegates may act. (E.g., “Grant Frank the ability to reset passwords for sales personnel only. Grant the same privilege to Helen, but for Engineering.”)

Contacts Auto-Sync for Mobile (beta) Premium Feature

Ensure your users have the latest corporate directory information on their mobile devices by automatically syncing user profiles and or shared contacts with your users’ personal contacts.

Bulk Document Reassignment Premium Feature

Never lose user documents when you delete users from your domain. When users are removed from the Google Apps domain, all the Google Docs they own are irretrievably deleted. This SherpaTools feature allows IT Administrators (or their delegates) to reassign all the documents owned by a to-be-removed user prior to user de-provisioning so that data is not lost.

User Profile Self-Edit

Reduce the workload on IT or Help Desk by enabling employees to keep their own profile information up to date. Employees can edit their own user profiles within SherpaTools, but cannot modify anyone else’s.

Simplified Group Membership Management

IT Administrators can easily manage group membership from a single page.

Rules-Based User Lists

A powerful rule-based system that automatically generates list of users based on administrator-supplied rules. Rules can be based on any combination of username, job title, department, language spoken, or group membership. These are particularly useful for use with Advanced Delegation.

For End Users

Directory access for all end users

The End-User Directory allows your users to browse through the corporate directory in a more thorough and intuitive manner, similar to legacy messaging platforms. Users can also view group membership without having to log into Google Groups.

Directory Bot

End-users can access the corporate directory from any Google Talk chat client, including mobile devices.
